It's Amaezing - Popular Musik(ish)

REMEMBER THAT MP3s ARE FOR SAMPLING ONLY! NO DOWNLOADING! IF YOU LIKE THE TUNES THEN BUY THE ALBUM/SONG!

Wait wait wait... you mean Taylor Swift had an actual LIFE before she got famous? Oh yes. Her prom date's hair is flawless by the way.

So I'm a Taylor Swift fan. I'll admit it. She's good.

So believe it or not:

I love it when someone who has musikal taste takes songs that suck and incorporate them into goodness. Can't count how many times this has happened but I know this is at least one:
I Poke Her Face [ft. Common & Kanye West] - Kid Cudi

~~~~~
Here is Lady Gaga doing an acoustic version of her sucky song: Poker Face. It sounds amazing here.
And here's the MP3
New "Burial" sounds like the old stuff with new stuff. Who knew?
Have any of you heard of Tiny Mix Tapes ? It's a cool site that has it's head in the right place. I like the idea behind themed mix tapes a LOT and always try and accommodate my life and my friends' lives with such. These guys allow you to submit your theme and if you're lucky it will get posted.
Anyways, I was wondering if you guys liked this idea? I was thinking about doing so but with sample-able tracks.
Yay or Nay?
~~~~~

So I dunno if you guys read Distort The Senses but if you're looking a fresh look on a majority of today's musik you HAVE to check it out. It's killer in my opinion.
The author's latest post was about Manchester Orchestra and their latest album.

Also, Depeche Mode released their dozenth (word?) CD.

Life: It's all around us.

This is an "easy" mash up according to Seth but that does not negate the fact that it rocks.
I Want You D.A.N.C.E. - ComaR

~~~~~
My goodness; auto tune that doesn't suck. Bon Iver is 2 for 2 in 2009. Amazing. Just astoundingly amazing. Sounds as if Bon Iver had been listening to a bunch of Imogen Heap and then realized, "Hey, I'm just as good. Let's rock this joint!"
Woods - Bon Iver
More auto-tune greatness:
Freaking hilarious.
~~~~~

So Stephanie and I went to prom this weekend. Unfortunately we didn't look anything like these guys:

Nor did we get to dance to anything like this:

The More That I Do - The Field
New The Field sounds like old goodness mixed with some subtle melodic guitar. Nice mix. I hope this is the way the whole new album sounds (releases in May by the way).

~~~~~
Japan = amazing/unprecedented/straight up odd
~~~~~

This kind of puts our size into perspective. We are so small. Life is so huge.

Every letter was found using GoogleMaps.

Sigur Rós is phenomenal by himself but with the smooth flows of Mobb Deep riding over the waves of ecstasy it makes this song one of the best of 2009. Easy. I could listen to this on repeat for hours.

Alice At The Drive-In-Thru

REMEMBER! THE MP3s IN THIS AND ALL OUR POSTS ARE FOR SAMPLING ONLY! IF YOU LIKE THE MUSIK, SUPPORT THE ARTISTS AND BUY IT FROM THEM!!!!

So we all know and love the delightful Will Crosswell. Well he was recently featured on Shenanigans for a masterful feat.

You can view our stud here in the article: Bacon Eating Contest, Anyone?

Since we all know how much WC <3's Kanye AND T-Pain, here is the best collaboration I've heard of 2009. Period. This song freaking rules. Besides, it's Kanye AND T-Pain and it actually doesn't suck. That's enough to rejoice about right there.
Flight School [ft. T-Pain] - Kanye West

~~~~~
This is an interesting take on Alice In Wonderland. Every sound is from the movie itself and when masterly put together, it sounds intriguingly... different. It's beautiful to watch and listen to.
Enough said.
Watch this NOW!
Here is a demo vid of how it actually works:
Drive-In Demo Video
This is a program that is combines Handbrake and MacTheRipper. Imagine if you could take your DVDs and put them on your hard drive with perfect quality and all its special features? Drive-In is a legal program that allows you to do this. How is it legal? Because it doesn't decrypt the DVD codes, therefore breaking no laws. I have over 400 DVDs and was wondering how I was going to take them to college next year. I'm going to spend $50 bucks for this program, buy a terabyte hard drive and have them all with me where ever I go.
If you want to learn more about it you can go here.
I'm sure most of you have seen this by now but if you haven't, enjoy :)
This genius took separate videos on YouTube of people performing solo and grouped them all together. The only altering of the videos he did was editing. No pitch change, no tempo change, no nothing.
A Q-A session with BLnD. Please Respond!
REMEMBER! MP3s ARE FOR SAMPLING ONLY! IF YOU LIKE THE MUSIK THEN BUY IT!
OH yeah, it's 4/20. Weed? Not for me but some people like it so here is the best marijuana song:
Burn One Down - Ben Harper
So, you guys need, need, NEED to see this video now. It's amazing. It's so amazing that I will watch again just because I told you guys to. ::watches video. dies laughing:: Hilarious.
I must warn you. Not for the faint of stomach.
Okay but this post is more a response one than anything. I need, need your feedback. Please.
I have several questions. In response you can either
A) Comment on this post at the bottom (anyone can comment)
B) E-mail me: JoshuaRainwater@yahoo.com
C) Message me on Facebook
or
D) Message me/Reply to me on Twitter
Okay here go my q's.
Should I buy my own domain name?
I am tired of Blogger deleting my posts and I want a domain that I can host my own MP3s without fear of Blogger deleting it. I know all my MP3s are for sampling purposes only but they disagree.
Should I make a 24 hour movie about a day in the life of me?
Me and my bud Emily are debating on this idea. It's entirely possible with all the equipment we have. Is it a good idea? Should it be a random day or should I plan out my activities? Should I make a list and accomplish it? Should I edit anything? Please feedback on this one.
Should I post the unedited video chats that occur between myself, Will and Seth? (Or @WCrosswell and @SAJR4 as they're known on Twitter).
These vlogs are sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes hours long but my oh my are they effing hilarious. Do you guys want to see the genius behind our tweets, our blogs, our lives? Should I edit them? Should I enhance them?
Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" vs.
Ozzy Osbourne "Crazy Train" vs.
Pink "So What" vs.
Daft Punk "Technologic"
My Life On The Crazy Train Sucks - Dan Mei & Mac Johnce
Should I take on more "definitive" posts?
Should I make every day or every other day have a specific post? Mondays are my new comic strip (coming soon btw. You'll understand soon). Wednesday is my new poll (like WillCrosswell.com). Friday is Weekend Warriors and Sunday is a time to answer questions asked by you guys? Maybe not exactly that schedule but would it be cool to have a definite post for definite days?
Final question:
What is the future of BLnD?
I appreciate you all reading this but why should I keep blogging? Should I start blogging about my day to day life or do you guys just want more MP3s to sample and videos to laugh at? Is this all just a waste?
Beautiful:
Wasted Time - Merry Clayton
Anyways, please respond.
25 Tweets On 1,000 Prodigies' Lunches
Remember that all mp3s here are for sampling purposes only. If you like the tracks then support the artists buy purchasing the album/song. You can do so with iTunes or Amazon or actually going to a store and using cash money.
~
My girlfriend, Stephanie, was trying to remember this song the other day and all she could remember was "Mamma Mia." Obviously I thought it was Mamma Mia! by ABBA. After getting beaten up for saying the wrong song I remembered the Queen classic and started singing it. She was very happy to know the name of it, I was very happy to be alive. Here is a take on it.
This cat does the 25 most annoying voices in pop culture whilst singing "Bohemian Rhapsody." Very funny, very true.
They are all unique and wonderful. I hope you take the time to appreciate them.
You gotta check this out! That means you Joel!
I know I posted this track a few weeks ago but it's worth re-posting. EsPECially when you find sick nasty remixes like these.
So if you know me in real life then you know I'm a big, big fan of Twitter. If you don't know what it is, here is the PERFET video that explains it.
Understand? If you're wondering how this is different from Facebook statuses, let me explain. Twitter is the Facebook status on steroids for anyone and everyone. You can't necessarily be Facebook friends with Taylor Swift or CNN Breaking News or PostSecret BUT you can follow them and their day-to-day lives on Twitter. You'd be surprised how many people you already know on Twitter. It's live updates about our lives. It keeps us connected. It lets you know about parties, news, friend's interests. It also lets DBs talk about themselves 24/7. I mean, really. Do you actually READ 50.000+ tweets aDAY? Come on man. Anyways, Twitter is awesome. I know it'll seem slow at first or lame or useless but I encourage all of you to keep at it. You can follow me if you like too.
ANYWAYS,
I say ALL of that to bring you this. This is a site that takes the latest 100 tweets with certain keywords (love, hate, wish, believe, think and feel), refreshes it's search every 30 seconds and then streams them anonymously, quickly and for all of us to see. It's worth checking out if you like Twitter or PostSecret but esPECially if you like both.
Twistori
Also, this is hilariously true:
~~~

This guy draws his child's lunch bag each day during his lunch break. They are phenomenal. I think this is a great way for the child to know their father loves them and for the Dad to both practice and show love to his children. How do you show love to your children? Have you hugged your dad today?

Lunch Bag Art
Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

You need to all learn about some of the greatest humans alive. The Top 10 Extraordinary Child Prodigies to be exact. This is one of the great lists from Oddee.com. It's a cool site if you want craziness to kill time with.

Spring Break '98!

So this picture has nothing to do with my post at all but I just wanted to make sure you'd all seen it.

You knew it was coming:

Spring

This is off of one of the greatest albums ever created. If you like this check out the rest of the album: The Trials Of Van Occupanther
We Gathered In Spring - Midlake

This is a relaxing tune from the genius Sam Beam. We've all heard him, we all love him.
In Your Own Time - Iron & Wine

Ella is 57 here by the way. 57 and she sounds like that. Man-oh-man.

April Showers

They just don't make 'em like they used to.
I Wish It Would Rain - The Temptations

Classic.
Have You Ever Seen The Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Wyatt: "Mr. Clearwater Revival, have YOU ever seen the rain?"

Spring BREAK!

If you're looking for some dance moves for your parties or if you want to know what Seth was like as a child:

It's popular pop, of course it sucks/ed
MMMBop - Hanson

Now here is a tune we should be walking down the boulevard to.
The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) - Simon & Garfunkel

I don't know how intelligent you all are but if you don't like Eminem's "The Eminem Show" then you're all danged fools. Here is Slim Shady's newest hit and golly gee, it's as catchy as ever.
We Made You [ft. Jessica Simpson] - Eminem

This one is for Joel Bokelman. I love this man. I never told him this since he can't love nobody ever since he lost his hand and his bride.
Flashing Lights (Diplo Remix) - Kanye West

Let's view an intelligent modification (mockery) on moronic pop-culture idols: The Ying-Yang Twins.

and some funny but true parodies:

On a more serious note:

So please be safe and responsible this week. I know it's "fun" or "cool" to get drunk and have sex but think about your actions. I'm not going to go religious on you; I'm going to use logic. One of my friends used to make the same mistakes ALL the time and ever since his (blessed) reformation he told me:
"Spending quality time with quality people that share your real interests (besides drinking and getting high) and having intelligent conversations and MEMORABLE nights is so much more fulfilling than wasting away pointless nights. You find that the people you get drunk with are only that: people you get drunk with. There is no real relationship there."
Whenever you look back on your past do you want to remember that you THINK you had a good time or actually remember it? Think about the women/men you're with this week too.
That's someone's daughter.
That's someone's future spouse.
Would you want some random horny guy/girl who is just looking for a "good time" and/or "non-intimate, (possible drunk/stoned) purely physical sexual pleasure" doing that to your daughter, sister or future wife?

Think about it.

Don't be a jerk.

In the words of Seth
